Hungry Frog Game — Instagram Filter Review

'Hungry Frog' is yet another Instagram filter that I've developed myself, therefore I just general information so this is not a review.
I always wanted to make a game that relies on mouth-opening. I had different ideas and I made a few. However, this time around, I wanted something to feel more organic and natural. Instead of controlling an airplane's rotation with the mouth, what I did in my Stunt Plane game, I've decided to use a virtual tongue.
Obviously, we all have tongues, so what I did was to use a very long virtual tongue of a frog. I then came up with the idea that it would be cool to be able to capture something with it. Obviously, this would be an insect if it's a frog. Now, because it's a selfie Instagram filter game, I wanted something that looks good in AR, so I decided to make flying insects as the targets for the frog to eat.
The end result is a casual shooting game where users need to open their mouth to release a tongue and aim in the right direction to capture an insect. I tried it myself and it felt so natural and fun. The virtual tongue felt like a natural extension of the real tongue.
I added cool sound effects to enhance the experience and give it more atmosphere and wrapped it up.
I love making Instagram filtros, especially an interactive one. I don't have experience in developing games myself and most of what I have I got from learning Spark AR Studio and what a terrific AR development platform it is.
If you are searching for a fun casual mobile game to play and love augmented reality, I think you are going to enjoy my new IG camera effect 'Hungry Frog', so give it a try and share your gameplay with me by tagging me @wowfilterscom on your IG stories - thank you!
